TO goes on classless rant against Michael Irvin and FS1 host - 'Uncle Tommers'
Throughout his storied and often controversial career, Hall of Famer Terrell Owens has established two virtually undeniable truths.
First, Owens is one of the greatest receivers and playmakers in NFL history. His 15,934 receiving yards are good for second all time, though Arizona Cardinals standout Larry Fitzgerald is a mere 389 yards away from passing him.
Even Owens’ one and only Super Bowl appearance, which was a loss as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, is the stuff of legends. He famously returned from a severe leg injury suffered late in the season and would’ve likely been the Super Bowl MVP had the Eagles beaten the Patriots.
That being said, the second truth that has emerged about Owens is that he’s a rancorous malcontent whose ability to burn bridges is as prolific as his ability to catch passes. For all of sports personality Skip Bayless’ shortcomings, his assertion that T.O. really stands for “team obliterator” is apt.
Owens infamously left the San Francisco 49ers, Eagles and Dallas Cowboys on terrible terms.
He insinuated that then-49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia was gay. He ripped Eagles star Donovan McNabb for being out of shape in the Super Bowl. He attacked former Cowboys teammates Tony Romo and Jason Witten for conspiring against him.
Owens’ pettiness once again came to the forefront when he declined his own Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
“After visiting Canton earlier this year, I came to the realization that I wish to celebrate what will be one of the most memorable days of my life, elsewhere,” Owens explained.
Naturally, this drew widespread condemnation from across the sports world.
One such personality who strongly rebuked Owens’ antics was FS1 host Jason Whitlock.
"The worst teammate in the history of professional football is now going to be the worst teammate in the history of the Hall of Fame… This is typical @terrellowens and I think the voters made a mistake putting him in." — @WhitlockJason pic.twitter.com/LWySUxHbdD

Whitlock is one of many FS1 personalities who makes a living with his “hot takes,” but his assessment of Owens was rather apt.
Owens could’ve rebuked Whitlock’s comments in any number of ways, but he chose the most immature route possible — poking fun at Whitlock’s weight.
How about me & u go celebrate over a box of Krispy Kreme donuts and glass of low-fat milk? Almond milk for me, I'm kinda lactose intolerant. 🥛 🍩 😂 https://t.co/gzxCy5CyIh

To Whitlock’s credit, he took the jab in stride and offered to take Owens up on his offer.

It didn’t take long for Owens to pivot and tell Whitlock to lose weight. And while that sort of response may be expected of Owens, he took things one step further by accusing Whitlock and former Dallas Cowboys superstar Michael Irvin (an outspoken Owens critic) of being “Uncle Tommers.”
Ok but after…if u lose a 100 lbs by August 4th then I'll attend. BUT you can't do lipo!! 😂🤣😂🤣 I only want 2 donuts. 🍩🍩 U can have the rest. Bring ur boy @michaelirvin88 too. I got some "powdered" donuts for him. U 2 Uncle Tommers! Why y'all mad?! I'm not. 🤷🏾♂️😂😎 https://t.co/yoTJv64bJ3

Not only that, but Owens seemed to needle Irvin over previously chronicled cocaine issues with his “‘powdered’ donuts” line.
Stay classy, Terrell Owens. You’re only emboldening your fiercest critics.
