NFL Pro Bowler investigated by police after altercation with wife - report
The NFL may be headed for yet another PR nightmare involving domestic violence.
According to TMZ Sports, Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Donald Penn allegedly slapped his wife, Dominique, on the butt. She took umbrage, which led him to allegedly pour a drink on her head and aggressively grab her by the wrist, the report said.
Police were called to the scene and took a report, TMZ reported. The incident is under investigation.
The couple issued a statement Monday through their representative, Denise White, denying the argument had gotten physical and saying they were splitting up:
“There was a verbal disagreement, there was NO physical altercation. The two are in the middle of a divorce and it is a hard time for both parties.”
Dominique Penn has had issues with her husband before.
In 2016, the football star had an extramarital dalliance with “Bad Girls Club” star Camilla Poindexter, according to TMZ.
And, like a Scooby-Doo villain, he’d have gotten away with it if not for that meddling kid — the one with whom Poindexter got pregnant as a result of the affair.
When Dominique Penn heard about her husband’s indiscretion, she took to Instagram, and she left nothing to the imagination about her views on the knocked-up mistress.
“My husband cheated on me with this hood rat,” she reportedly posted.
“She knew he was married from jump!! He knew that he was married! They did this to my family! You don’t get brownie points for f—ing a married man for a check thinking he was gonna leave his wife!”
Donald Penn has made an estimated $47 million in his NFL career and just signed a two-year, $21 million extension with the Raiders; if Poindexter was after him “for a check,” she certainly dug a rich vein of gold.
The Raiders are covered on the offensive line in the event Penn’s case leads to a suspension or criminal charges.
Oakland drafted UCLA tackle Kolton Miller in the first round and North Carolina A&T’s Brandon Parker in the third round; both project as solid NFL contributors, and Miller was one of the best linemen in the draft.
Penn tweeted “MORE MOTIVATION” upon the Raiders picking Miller, a tweet he has since deleted, but the Raiders have said the pick had nothing to do with Penn.
The NFL and the Raiders haven’t yet commented on the Penn incident.
