7 Firefighters Each Have Newborn in Span of One Year. 'Must Be Something in the Water'
There’s definitely something in the water at Glenpool Fire Department in Oklahoma.
Seven out of 20 firefighters in the same department recently got together at the station to celebrate something incredible — and absolutely adorable.
Within the span of a year, the firefighters have each welcomed a newborn into their family.
Ranging in age from 2 months old to 15 months old, their babies are just too cute to handle.
And when their moms realized how cute the coincidence was, they knew they needed to capture it on camera.
The firefighters’ wives convinced their husbands to hold a photo shoot with the babies at the fire station, and the results are nothing short of amazing.
One of the fire wives, Allysa Shanks, got the idea for the shoot on Pinterest. The other moms were soon on board once the seventh baby was born, and another wife, Avery Dykes, took the photos.
“We know first-hand and how fragile life is and we never want to take new life for granted,” firefighter Kendall Dykes said of the shoot.
Of course, with seven young children in tow, the photo shoot was no easy feat. Fussy babies mixed with plenty of fun made for quite the exhausting day.
“It was like herding cats to get seven babies to cooperate for pictures but we made it work,” said baby Cohen’s mom Melanie Todd.
And in the end, the families were able to (for the most part) herd their adorable tykes to capture quite a few beautiful moments.
In one photo, each of the seven babies were posed lying on top of their fathers’ fire jackets. However, baby Cohen refused to lay on his dad’s jacket, and eventually used his cute charm to convince the photographer to just capture the photo with him in the center of the action.
In another sweet snap, each of the firefighter dads are captured together holding their beautiful babies in their arms with pride.
Sarah Hutchinson, wife of firefighter Dustin Hutchinson, posted a few photos from the day to Facebook, and it isn’t hard to see why the world has fallen in love.
“We’re a really close group so we were glad we took the time to capture the babies with their daddies,” Todd added. “Now, we just look forward to seeing them all grow up together.”
At the rate they’re going, we can only assume these babies will grow up to be wonderful friends, and perhaps attend plenty more fire family photo shoots together in the future.
